Many more individuals want subprime used vehicle lending options

The music “Crossfire” by Vaughan explains “Money’s tight; nothing’s free”. This is correct when it comes to the car-buying public of The United States that is within the recession with falling credit ratings. Based on Wards Auto, the lending may be changing in America thinking about there have been many more used vehicles bought but the same amount of subprime lending products being obtained.

Credit liquidity going better with subprime and non-prime lending options

Cars have to sell to make the automotive market get better while credit has to flow, whether it is subprime or not. American customers seem to be doing more with subprime lending although lenders and dealers with in-house financing aren’t targeting it. There still isn’t product availability that is needed. Ed Rykulski, used auto manager for Al Serra Auto Plaza of Grand Blanc, Mich., told Wards that “We employ 18 salespersons in the sales center and purchase heavily at the auctions to keep sales at 2009 levels, when we sold 3,212 used units.”

Saleswomen hired to entice subprime female buyers

Saleswoman Nancy Koehrman of Taylor Used Vehicle Center near Toledo, Ohio, pointed to a growing trend within the current used car sales market: employing more women as salespeople.

Koehrman told Wards that “women customers prefer women to be handling the car selling and the finance and insurance side, too, especially if they’ve been classified as subprime.”.

Needless to say, women aren’t the only ones interested in loans. Men like subprime used auto lending products too. A FICO score of 599 or lower is had by one quarter of U.S. adult customers, accounts Fair, Isacc and Co. Inc. That’s 43 million individuals!. A lot of the market can be hit here. Consumers with FICOs from 650-699 are frequently being declined for standard auto lending options, which moves them in the subprime pool.

Off-lease stock building more of an inventory

Off-lease automobiles are where lots of stock comes for the Serra group. Wards interviewed Rykulski who said this. Of any Ward’s 500 members, which are dealerships that get great marks for reliability and other factors, Grand Blanc second-hand automobile center is one of the largest. Unfortunately, as used automobiles are currently common even with non-subprime customers, it remains difficult to keep sufficient inventory on hand.
